Questions, problems or ideas? Email sumi@schaefer-dev.de. Please mention your device, iOS version and the app version (shown in Settings → About). If a particular file does not open, say whether it opens on the Supernote itself; please only attach files you are comfortable sharing.
Turn on Dropbox sync in your Supernote's sync settings. In Sumi, tap Connect Dropbox, sign in, and choose the folder your Supernote syncs to, usually Supernote. Your notebooks and annotated PDFs then appear under Browse Dropbox.
Without Dropbox, the start screen offers Open from Files… and a few sample notebooks to try. You can also always share a file to Sumi from another app, or open it from the Files app.
No. Sumi asks Dropbox for read-only access. It can list and download your files, but it can never change, upload or delete anything.
Supernote notebooks (.note), annotation files (.mark) shown on their original PDF, and ordinary PDFs. Notebooks in the original first-generation Supernote file format are not supported.
A .mark file holds only your handwriting; the page content comes from the PDF next to it. From Dropbox, Sumi finds the original automatically when it sits in the same folder with the matching name (Book.pdf and Book.pdf.mark). From the Files app, select both files together.
Documents you open are kept on your device. To save your whole library, tap Sync All on the start screen. In Settings you can sync automatically when the app opens, on Wi-Fi only by default.
Handwriting is recognized on your device after a document opens, which takes a moment for long notebooks; a banner shows the progress. Recognition works best on clear handwriting and may miss very small or stylized writing.
Settings → Remove Downloaded Documents deletes saved copies. Settings → Disconnect Dropbox also removes the sign-in, recents and favorites. Your Dropbox is not affected. See the privacy policy for details.
Yes. The free Mac app opens notebooks with a double-click and adds Quick Look previews in Finder. Download it from GitHub.
